Vetasa was founded by Manju Singh in 1979. Vetasa?s client base ranges from individual retail buyers to turnkey projects for large institutional clients. Our furniture is entirely handmade. The company uses only the highest quality raw materials. The furniture is manufactured under the strictest quality control and finishing processes, creating pieces that are unmatched in quality.

Vetasa manufactures a line of high-end designer furniture. Vetasa specializes in custom-designed furniture manufactured to clients? specific and personal requirements. Vetasa is a trendsetter in the furniture industry, having changed the mindset amongst its clients that furniture made of natural vines has a place not only in gardens, patios, verandahs and outdoor spaces but is an integral part of formal interiors. Amongst fine furniture aficionados, Vetasa has come to represent design excellence, quality, elegance and comfort.

Environmentalists worry about the rapid depletion of the forest areas of the world due in large part to the global popular trend for hardwood furniture. Vetasa attempts to divert the focus from hardwood to eco-friendly materials such as cane and rattan. Vetasa has demonstrated that this material can be as elegant and lasting as hardwood. Cane and rattan are natural resources that renew themselves in a fraction of the time that a wood tree takes to grow.

Manju Singh
Manju Singh is the force behind Vetasa.

Manju studied at Columbia University, New York. She has lived, for extended periods of time, in India, Lebanon, Jordan, Cyprus, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Austria. Her design style and techniques have evolved over the years and are shaped by the different manufacturing techniques and craft forms she has been exposed to in India and across the world.

Manju Singh has been greatly influenced by bentwood furniture and techniques from the Austro-Hungarian Empire. It was in Vienna, home of the acclaimed Thonet style of bentwood furniture, that Manju was drawn to furniture design as an art form. Her interest in interior design and this period in Vienna led her to design cane and rattan furniture in Delhi.

Today Vetasa, her company, is India?s leading manufacturer of premier quality cane, wicker and rattan furniture.
