Pine and Design was started in 1993 by Steve Cropper and Merrill Smith. Steve was born and raised in England, and Merrill is a New York native who settled in Florida in the 1980's. We set out to offer our clients one of the world's best collections of European furniture and accessories. Steve and Merrill travel to Europe several times a year to secure authentic antique pieces as well as reproductions from all corners of the continent.

The 10, 000 square-foot store carries a huge inventory of English, French and Continental pieces. We also custom design and build anything from a nightstand to an entertainment center or home office. These pieces are made by English craftsmen following centuries of tradition and adding modern conveniences such as pocket doors, keyboard and file drawers. We use pine and hardwoods, including mahogany, walnut, elm, yew, cherry and oak. Antique pine boards reclaimed from Victorian cotton mills and other buildings are used for country pine reproductions.
