Fixtures Furniture was founded in 1947 by Norman Polsky who began his business as a one-person operation producing coat racks. Success with that product line led to an expansion into counter stools, then tables and chairs, establishing Fixtures as an innovator of commercial furniture with advanced design.

As the contract furniture industry evolved in the mid '90s, Mr. Polsky sold his interests in the business to Jami, Inc. Fixtures Furniture continued to grow and today manufactures stackable and general seating, as well as tables, for the health care, education and corporate markets. The company employs more than 200 individuals at its three Kansas City facilities and sales showrooms in Chicago and New York.

Jami was founded in 1995 to acquire and develop companies within the contract furniture industry. Fixtures Furniture, Harter, Precision, Zoom Seating nd ABCO Office Furniture comprise the five Jami Companies manufacturing quality seating or office systems products.
